The first was in Spa in 1992, when Senna leapt out of his car in the middle of a practice session to help fellow driver Erik Comas, who had been knocked unconscious in an accident.
I think this was during practice. Erik Comashaving a bad crash, finally coming to rest in the center of the track.
While other drivers drove around the crashed car and continued on their way, Senna pulled over, jumped out of his car and ran over to Erik's car, turned off the engine and supported Erik's head until the doctor arrived. Senna may have been ruthless, but was a very good guy.Flash forward a couple of years to the San Marino Grand Prix while the emergency technicians were working on Senna, Comas, in the pits and not realizing what was going on elsewhere was waved through by a marshal and came flying out of the pits and onto thecircuit. When he reached the crash site and saw what was happening, he became so emotional that he drove at low speed back to the pits and retired for the weekend.Humans doing human things.
